Following our blog earlier this week announcing the new WebLogic Application Deployment pluginfrom IBM UrbanCode, a series of other plugins for Oracle customers has been announced:

  • WebLogic Server Security Management

  • WebLogic Server Resource Management

  • Oracle Service Bus Configuration Management

All of the plugin provided steps are self-contained so you can use them in your processes. Let's take a closer look at what steps each plugin provides:

WebLogic Server Security Management

This plug-in provides steps to work with security configurations in WebLogic Server. You can perform the following tasks:

  • Create a role mapper
  • Manage roles
  • Create and update an authentication provider v Create and update a realm
  • Manage users and groups

WebLogic Server Resource Management

This plug-in provides steps to support automated deployment of various WebLogic server resources:

Connection information file for accessing the WebLogic server
All steps also require connection information for accessing the WebLogic server. It is defined in a Java beans configuration file and you provide the path to it in step properties. The wlsMetadata.xml file provided with the plug-in is a working example - you may provide your own.

Configuration files for objects
You create JMX properties files that define the objects and provide the path to the file(s) in step properties. Example files are provided in the plug-in for roles and users/groups - take a look at the extras directory.

Oracle Service Bus (OSB) Configuration Management

OSB transforms complex and brittle architectures into agile integration networks by connecting, mediating, and managing interactions between services and applications. This plugin provides steps to support automated application and import of OSB configurations.

JAR file paths on the server
The steps rely on the following JAR files on the Oracle Service Bus server - include the path to them in your classpath.

  • <OracleServerDirectory>/Oracle_OSB1/lib/sb-kernal-api.jar
  • <OracleServerDirectory>/Oracle_OSB1/modules/com.bea.common.configfwk_1.7.0.0.jar

All of these plugins require version 6.0.1 of IBM UrbanCode Deploy and support WebLogic Server or OSB versions 10g and later.
