1) What's your preferred definition of DevOps?
A collaborative working partnership in an organisation bringing together those who design technology and their colleagues who must dynamically manage the successful systems operations, through skilful strategies for optimising their customer outcomes and reactions.
2) When people 'do' DevOps, what's the most common mistake you see them make?
Failure to jointly pro-actively focus on the fundamentals of the solution and perform a realistic assessment of weaknesses and problem hot spots.
Complacency and failure to anticipate issues through lack of agility and lateral thinking.
3) How do you recommend an organisation new to DevOps start?
To engage teams from the top, and promote a positive approach to problem-solving making a virtue of the most successful solutions through advertising 'this month's Top 5 KPI Busters' on the company intranet.
4) What's your prediction for what DevOps will look like in 2020?
It will be real-time and strongly mobile web computing for integrated dashboards and charting to deliver configurable MI capability to the whole company globally without reliance on location or local processing capability through hosted portals.
